You answer eleven plain questions — age, rough height and weight, what kind of hockey, whether cost help would be useful, what gear you already have. No account, no jargon, and "I'm not sure" is always an accepted answer.
Then Season Plan builds the bag with you, one piece at a time. For each item it gives you the answer first — buy this one new, find this one used, keep the one you have, or go get fitted — then the reason, then the evidence if you want it.
It checks before it spends
If your player has a hand-me-down, the app walks you through a 20-second check. The outcome depends on the item: a cracked helmet gets replaced, a too-long stick gets cut down at any shop for free, an oversized bag is simply fine. Different gear, different rules — because that's how gear actually works.
It knows what it doesn't know
Skate width and volume can't be measured at home, so the app budgets a range and sends you to a fitting rather than inventing a size. Goalie gear isn't researched yet, so it says exactly that instead of pretending. Every refusal comes with a next step.
It ends with a plan
You finish with a shopping list grouped by what to actually do — buy new, buy used, get fitted, program provides it, already own it — and an honest estimated total that excludes anything unresolved.
