I grew up on the North Shore, where I first learned to skate and never really stopped. My parents hadn’t played hockey, so we figured it out as we went: what skates actually fit, what gear was worth the money, what could wait until next season and what couldn’t.
That sport shaped the person I became. These days I give back by coaching youth and high school hockey here in Massachusetts, and I’ve watched enough parents show up at their first practice looking as lost as mine once were.
Season Plan is for those families. You shouldn’t need years in the sport to raise a kid who plays it. You just need someone who’s already made the mistakes willing to hand you the shortcut.
